Dr. Mubashir Cheema is a highly experienced plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation, breast uplift, reduction, tummy tucks, mommy make overs and liposuction, as well less invasive procedures like threadlifts, and has a keen interest in non-surgical skin rejuvenation. His medical journey began in 2001 with a degree in medicine, followed by basic and advanced surgical training.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and holds a Master’s in Reconstructive Microsurgery from Barcelona. He was selected for a highly sought after aesthetic (aka cosmetic) surgery fellowship at the world renowned Akademikliniken institurte in Sweden, where he gained significant expertise in cosmetic procedures under the mentorship of Prof Per Heden. At the moment his work spans both private and NHS settings. With the experience that he has gained, he teaches the next generation of plastic surgeons through regular workshops/courses. Dr. Cheema also contributes to peer-reviewed scientific literature and recently started a podcast focusing on plastic surgery advancements.
Mr Cheema places a particular emphasis on patient safety, which he considers paramount in a field where non-certified providers pose real risks to public health. He is a vocal advocate that patients should seek treatment from qualified medical professionals only. That is a critical point considering the rise of non-medical practitioners offering aesthetic procedures in UK whose clients, lured by lower costs, may end up with complications requiring corrective surgeries.
Patients must verify that their surgeon is registered with professional bodies like the General Medical Council (GMC) and have a medical indemnity to cover the treatemnts they offer, in order to ensure they receive only the safest and highest quality care.
